The Ballyliffin Coastal challenge 10 mile  2011 was launched in the Ballyliffin Lodge Friday night with an enthusiastic gathering welcomed by chairman Cecil Doherty accompanied by  members of the local Dev. committee , Inishowen Ac ,Carndonagh Hospice unit which is again the nominated charity indeed the proceeds from 2010 were handed over to Gertie Monagle on the  night with a reminder re 2011 if you chose to contact Gertie re sponsorship cards ( 0861534091 ) and members of the community.

Two excellent promotion short videos re the event were shown one a race route and the other a race promotional piece both of them already receiving hundreds of hits on youtube under ballyliffin coastal . 300 turned out last year either to walk/run/ jog and reaction was very favourable . On this occasion in addition to the visitballyliffin.com webpage its also being promoted per facebook again under ballyliffincoastalchallenge and all present were encouraged to share dtails of the event per this medium. Event date again Easter Saturday April 23rd @ 2pm entry fee 20 euros and 10 euro for students with a quality T-shirt guaranteed for all and refreshments in a local hotel afterwards. Added interest on this occassion is the news that 30 English runners are on their way to add an international dimension. In conclusion  Athletics Ireland team manager  Patsy Mc Gonagle  pointed out the tourist potential of events such as this  and  encouraged  particularly walkers to get out and about in preparation for this  Easter challenge.
