BALLYLIFFIN COASTAL CHALLENGE 2018
The 2018 Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge takes place on Easter Saturday, March 31st at 1pm. This is the 11th annual organisation of the popular Inishowen promotion. Year on year the numbers have increased with it climbing to a phenomenal 1,200 in 2017!
All entrants will receive their commemorative medal plus a Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge t-shirt and goody bag. For the kids race on the beach, the winners will receive a special medal in addition to the Easter Eggs and goody bags!
The Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge not only attracts walkers, joggers and runners from the wider Inishowen hinterland but nationally and indeed internationally with many spending the weekend in the area to enjoy a break all centred on the event and in some cases the attraction of the world class golf courses at the Ballyliffin Golf Course. The event is unique in that the final 2 miles is on Pollan Beach. The course fringes the sea with the backdrop of Malin Head and Five Fingers Strand as you follow the route through the Isle Of Doagh.
Ballyliffin and the surrounding area in addition to world class golf and excellent accommodation opportunities is in essence a getaway destination over the holiday period. Children’s races on Pollan Beach will again feature with the iconic backdrop of Glashedy Island, so there is something for all the family. There is the potential for participants to get involved for a charity of their choice or just run for the fun and exercise.
The Ballyliffin Community are once again preparing to welcome a large enthusiastic crowd working towards attracting a record turnout how encouraging it would be if we could report that 2000 took part in what is regarded nationally as the most scenic route on the Irish calendar!
